Make a training run reproducible and describe it as a parameterised pipeline replayed identically (uv, DVC)

Make a scikit-learn training run reproducible by fixing its two sources of randomness with a seed read from params.yaml, locking the environment with uv.lock and deciding what goes into Git, then describe data generation and training as dvc.yaml stages with commands, dependencies, parameters, outputs and metrics, replay with dvc repro while reading dvc.lock, check that a changed parameter only replays the stage that declares it, compare metrics from one commit to the next with dvc metrics diff, and get the same metrics back on a fresh clone.

The path

Where it comes from, where it leads

What you need to know first, where you stand on this skill, and what it opens next. Your status is computed in your browser, from what you have read and passed.

Before · 2 prerequisites

This skill, for you

Make a training run reproducible and describe it as a parameterised pipeline replayed identically (uv, DVC)

Computing

It unlocks · nothing yet

No other skill requires it: it is an end-of-path skill.

Lessons

How to learn it

2 lessons, about ~2 h 00, in program order. Each lesson ends with its quiz.

Beyond the lessons

Assess, practise, pass the proof

Reading a lesson confirms nothing. A skill is confirmed by a passed quiz, practised in a guided lab, and put to the test by a challenge or a mission; an imported lab result is not verified by the site.

Assess yourself

2 quizzes

At the end of the lessons: passed at 70%, they confirm the skill.

Proof

1 practical proof

A practical proof is a challenge, a capstone or a declared lab.
