How to read these jobs A job, its responsibilities, the missions that make them up and the skills they require.
Job, responsibilities, missions, skills, proof
Each job is defined by what it is for, then by its responsibilities, as the job is practised and not from a catalogue of tools. Each responsibility is carried out through missions, each mission requires skills, and each skill is taught by lessons and practised in labs. The level expected is said for every responsibility, compared with the SFIA framework.
Your path
Only what you are missing
Your path is computed from what you have already read and passed (quizzes, labs): what you know is never imposed again, whatever course taught it.
Tools
Means, not the job
GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, Argo CD or Flux, Scaleway or Outscale: the tool changes the lessons to read, never the responsibilities.
Progress
Nothing more to tick
A job's progress is that of its skills: acquired when their quizzes or their proof lab are passed. Changing goals loses nothing, what is acquired stays acquired.
Honesty
Gaps are stated
When part of the job has no skill on this site, the job page says so. Nothing is padded out.
The jobs
From the most sought-after role to the job that leads into the field.
And the other roles
A job is not listed here?
Only jobs whose skills are taught on this site are listed. FinOps, Release Manager and DevOps Architect have no path: the first has no course here, the second is a coordination role, the third is the sum of the others after years of practice. The guide to DevOps roles describes all three, alongside the five others.
