This site will stay free to access: guides, courses, quizzes, labs and paths are not reserved for people who pay. If you use it regularly, you can still contribute every month to its development and upkeep by becoming a supporting member. Support funds the project, never access to knowledge: it unlocks no content.
Why become a supporting member?
A learning platform is never written once and for all. Every guide needs research and a review; every course needs labs run end to end and reproducible tests; every new version of a tool means updating the pages that describe it. That background work, invisible when everything works, is what recurring support makes sustainable.
Support also covers what keeps the site running: hosting, the continuous integration chain that checks every page before it is published, and the homelab the labs run on. A monthly contribution, even a small one, weighs more than a one-off gesture: it makes it possible to plan ahead.
How to become a supporting member?
The membership is paid every month on Ko-fi, which is only the payment method. The amounts below are suggestions: none gives access to extra content, and every member sees exactly the same site as every other reader.
| Tier | Suggested amount | What it stands for |
|---|---|---|
| Member | €5 a month | regular support for the project |
| Patron | €10 a month | stronger support |
| Stronger support | any amount, every month | the contribution you choose |
To pick your tier, open the project's Ko-fi page: Become a supporting member. The membership comes with no commitment: you stop it from your Ko-fi account and lose nothing on the site, since your progress stays in your browser and does not depend on support.
One-time support
Prefer a one-off gesture? The same Ko-fi page accepts a single contribution, for the amount you choose: One-time support. No account is asked for on this site, before or after.
What your support pays for
The project costs about €475 a month in actual expenses: hosting, software and services, and the homelab hardware that runs the labs. That figure is not the whole story: the main resource is still the time spent researching, testing, writing and maintaining, which support helps protect against other commitments.
In practice, a contribution goes towards:
- keeping the courses up to date when a tool changes version;
- re-running the labs and their tests before a page is published;
- opening new courses, like the languages that became full paths this year;
- hosting the site and its test environments.
What will stay free?
Everything that serves learning. The membership creates no reserved content: courses, guides, quizzes, labs, mock exams and job paths stay available without a subscription. Your progress and results are stored in your browser, the same way whether you are a member or not. The Discord server is open to everyone too, with no reserved room.
This choice is meant to last: the site plans no premium content, no paid quiz or lab, and no early access in exchange for payment.
Other ways to help
Direct support is not the only way to help the project, and the gestures below are not part of the membership.
- Your usual Amazon shopping through this link: at no extra cost to you, the site earns a small commission. Bookmark it to use it for every order.
- The "Recommended reading" and "Recommended hardware" callouts on the technical pages point to books and equipment that are genuinely recommended, with Amazon affiliate links: same price for you, and direct support for the writing.
- Report a mistake: the "Something wrong on this page?" box, at the bottom of every page, opens a prefilled ticket. A typo or an outdated command reported improves the page for every reader after you, and counts in the contributors ranking.
Transparency
The site shows no advertising and carries very little sponsored content; when it does, the page says so. As an Amazon Partner, it earns a commission on eligible purchases, at no extra cost to you: Amazon pays for partner links. Neither support nor affiliation buys an editorial line: the recommendations remain the ones I find useful, and members do not steer the site's choices.
Thank you
This platform stays free and independent. If it helps you regularly, you can become a supporting member and help keep it going. Thank you to everyone who already supports it, every month or with a one-off gesture.
